Default Bad Cam Shaft Position Sensor?

Hey all,

I have a 2001 accord 4cyl sulev. This car has had some serious electrical gremlins. Something is causing the Cylinder Position Sensor to fry itself to death over and over... I have replaced WAY too many distributors because of this. I think I have identified the issue. The Cam Shaft Position Sensor that is underneath the distributor was soaked with oil. My old dizzy was leaking oil onto it for a long time. Could that cause my short in the Dizzy?

I have tested the oily sensor and a junkyard sensor and got similar kohm readings. I can't find the desired resistance in the manual anywhere. All I can find is tolerances, not resistance.

I am so paranoid that if I replace the cam shaft sensor and the distributor and the distributor gets fried again I might just freak the **** out. This **** is getting ridiculous.

Looking for any help or suggestions....

Thanks!
