Default Cuts off at 2k rpms

so I got a 92 gsr with the original 1.7. Everything is stock except for what the previous owner installed which was a 255 fuel pump but other than that its stock.

i have a couple of issues I really need help with

#1 is I get hesitation in the lower to about 5000 rpm..
i feel like it's going strong then weakens up and picks up again in the higher end. Feels like I'm not getting my full power. Not drastic but it's noticeable

i think it it has something to do with the occasional problem I have that when I start up and drive I immediately get cut off at 2000 rpms. It will stay like that for a second and maybe happen again and then I'm good to go past. It only happens when I first start the car and go about twice a week. I can't figure out what it is. Please please help me with this one
I also get a code 7 at start up sometimes and when I do i know the car will run fine and I've never had it cut off when the CEL is on. I calibrate the tps and have changed it a few times and it will still pop up at start up sometimes.

i just recently changed the o2 sensor and it felt better and I haven't gotten cut off yet or gotten the tps code yet but I replaced it earlier today. So idk. my main concern is fixing the cut off problem because I think that it's the culprit to my hesitation issue and also the old o2 didn't help .

Can someone help????

Check your grounds, also the ignitor ground on the thermostat housing with the 10mm. Clean it up with a wire brush and see if that helps. Also check the points on your ignition switch if they’re worn down or if you have a after market alarm make sure it has a good connection.

It's likely the distributor. I've had a couple bad ones give me issues in the past. Try to find a used oem, or rebuilt. The new ones are a 50/50 chance to be good or garbage.

learn to diagnose coil and icm then you arent tossing out perfectly good parts
and paying for parts you dont actually need.

I have a new distributor that tests just fine, same as the oem rebuilt I have on my car right now. The new one doesn't time worth a crap. I actually got a refund and got to keep the distributor when the company I bought it from didn't return my calls or emails. Thank you ebay buyer protection.

BTW I had missed the part about your code 7. I had an aftermarket tps on my car that went out after only a year. I wish I had never touched the oem. Fortunately, I had another throttle body with an oem tps, so I just swapped the whole throttle body.
