Default D15Z4 and D15Z3 parts interchangeability

Hey there. I am currently looking to buy a used Honda Civic. Everything about the car is right, price condition etc. The thing is the car has been imported within a year of sale, from the Middle East to the Netherlands. I don't see this as a problem seeing as the car has been here under 1 owner since it has been imported in October 1996. It is a Civic hatchback 1.5 EXI which means it has the D15Z4 engine(according to wikipedia). A version with an engine that was only sold in the middle east. I'm kinda worried that if something goes wrong and needs replacing I might be in trouble because this version was never sold here and parts may be impossible to get. So I was wondering what the parts interchangeability was like with the more common engines sold in the european market, which would be the D15Z3. I've looked through the FAQ, done my fair bit of Googling and just cant seem to figure this out. Any help or pointing in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

All D series engines physically bolt into the car the same way. It looks like you could rather simply swap any non-VTEC engine for the D15Z4. The D15Z3 is VTEC-E, which would require replacing the engine computer, intake manifold and injectors, and wiring.
