I just got a pair of used TEIN Monoflex coilovers. The rear coilovers seem to have some kind of foam on the top hats, probably something the previous owner did. Does anyone know why one would add this foam?
Its hard as steel. Is it to simply avoid metal to metal contact? I guess it end up acting like a bushing, but a pretty bad one.
Wow. What the heck is that stuff? Pritty cool. All factory stuff has some kind of isolator on it usually. For noise mostly. Probably didnt want any noises from metal to metal parts moving around.
