So i have a 97 civic dx 5 speed. I recently did a intake manifold swap aswell as the tb from a y7 to a y8. My iacv were 3 wires and i changed them to a 2 wire at the connector point, at the ecu pinout i remove the orange(a13) wire and moved the blue and black wire i moved from a14 to a12. The car starts and idles normal but my issue is when i give it gas it jerks, engine is not shaking or anything. But my check engine light did pop out for the code p1509.

Can anybody give me some info on what i could do, thanks.

 

You also need to swap in an EX ECU, and that requires a VTEC engine. The only OBDII ECU that can run a 2-wire IACV is the manual EX one.

From what year to what year will work for the ecu?

 

1996 to 1998 Civic EX ECU... although if you didn't do a cylinder head swap, this will cause additional VTEC codes since the ECU will be looking for those sensors and all you have done is change the intake manifold and throttle body.

 

Ill be doing a cylinder head swap soon, but for the moment if i swap the ecu will this codes affect anything or should it be fine?
