Odyssey swap into 2000 Accord V6...
Well guys, after 340k+ miles and not wanting to deal with any more heat soak issues, I have decided to lay the old engine to rest and swap in a replacement. Rather than go back in with a J30A1, I am wanting to do an Odyssey J35 swap. I did some searching around, and found very little info on which engine to go with. Odyssey motors with decent mileage are a dime-a-dozen on Ebay, and I noticed the later 2nd Gen Odyssey engines ('02-'04) have more ponies than the previous 2nd Gen models ('99-'01), with the same gas mileage. The '05 motor from the 3rd Gen is really nice, but not sure what problems I would run into as far as crank sensor, intake plumbing, ECU connections, etc. Just trying to narrow down what would be the best "drop in and go" motor & ECU for the '98-'00 Accords.
As far as the tranny, would it be beneficial to add a larger trans cooler to cope with the extra HP and torque, or would I be fine with the original unit?
Any input is appreciated guys, and thanks in advance.
Snoop.

I thought that the Odyssey motors themselves were prone to the heatsoak issue ? You might get more opinions on the Odyssey motors in the Odyssey subforum.

I'm genuinely surprise your post didn't register a single meaningful response in this forum over the years..
I just learned about this swap today from a mechanic who claims to have done the deed for a client. Keith Barnes, owner of Outlaw Motors, in Cary, NC
I'm curious to learn if you still have your vexxed 6th-gen...
