Default Near Stock Civic VX

Hey everybody. My name is Kenny and I’m a long time browser but first time posting. Just wanted to say hi and share with you guys my little Civic VX.

I drive a 1995 Honda Civic VX. It has near 104k miles on the D15Z1 motor. I bought it back in November of 2016 with only 85k. It is an East Coast Civic and the quarter panels were repaired before I bought it, but they’re starting to crack and the job wasn’t done too well as the replaced metal shows orange peal very badly.

As of right now, I’ve done only small changes to the car. Other than basic maintenance and repairs, little tweaks have been done so far.

Things done to the car since first owning it:
-new axles
-oil changes and brakes & rotors when needed
-dropped on Eibach Pro-kit springs then replaced with Skunk2 springs and new struts for a more aggressive drop
-4th gen Prelude front seats with modified EK rails
-Pioneer Head unit and Pinoeer speakers front and rear
-new water pump and belts
-new tires (165/80 R13! That’s all Firestone could find for my stock VX wheels)
-new various pieces for the rear window strut
-Dynomax muffler
-new driver’s side window regulator
-front amber corner lights
-rear cargo cover from eBay

The car is my daily driver and my future plans for this car are a bit hazy now. From all my reading here, the D15Z1 is a tad tricky performance wise. Also I do love the fuel economy too. On a good day, I average about 40 mpg. Then on my days off and I take the car out for a fun drive, I wish for more power. My mind goes back and forth.

with Eichbach Pro-kit SpringsOther than tiny aesthetic pieces my lame *** wants, like window visors (no AC and rain sucks) and the quarter panels, I really don’t know what’s next. I bought HX rims that need paint and tires, but that’s about it. I’m nowhere near a wrench. I can barely do maintenance and basic suspension work, but I’m learning slowly, but surely.

Just wanted to introduce myself and show you my car. Thanks for reading and feedback would be much appreciated. Is it worth engine swapping this East Coast shell? Should I add just basic bolt-ons and enjoy it as is? Who knows hahah. Thanks again for the read.

😊 🚗💨
