Input shaft bearings go bad after about 150,000 miles. This causes a whirring / grinding noise idling in neutral that goes away when you push the clutch in. Bearing replacement is a simple job (once you remove transmission from the car) and about $75.00 in parts.

Transmission should be filled with Honda Manual Transmission Fluid or 10W40 motor oil. Do not use ATF or heavy gear oil.
