I have a 97 accord that's showing a P0118 code. I have checked both of the ETC's with an ohm meter and both are showing and open loop (not reading anything). Same results with the engine cold or hot. Is this normal? I have always been led to believe that the sensor should read low impedance when cold and higher when hot. We recently replaced the water pump and tried to bleed the air out of the intake. Could this have something to do with this problem? Or should I just replace both sensors?

 

The car has one ECT sensor.

 

the ect sensor is under the distributor, you're checking the fan switches
