Default Relay question

Not sure if this is the proper subforum, or if I should have posted in the CR-V specific forum.

Vehicle is a 1998 CR-V

So starting to hunt down some electrical and mechanical gremlins, found this dangling next to my ECU.

It was broken on the outside, visable rust under the black plastic shroud/casing. Inside heavily corroded. Looking up the part number on google shows as "power relay", some threads I looked at in the search results showed stuff for the blower motor or some sort of heat/AC function.

With it removed, the blower motor works properly in all speeds (as it always has). Does anyone know offhand the purpose of this relay? I know it needs to be replaced, it looks pretty hammered, just curious as to its actual function. I was able to get ECU codes and stuff via OBD2 so I imagine ECU has power. The two-out-of-four windows that work still work with it removed. Just curious. I've had some odd issues with it randomly losing power/cutting out while driving.

That is the blower motor High relay.

The blower power transistor controls
the blower motor in all speeds except HIGH. The
blower power transistor is controlled by the heater
control panel. When the heater control panel
requests HIGH blower speed, it grounds the blower
motor HIGH relay coil, the relay is energized,
which connects the blower motor directly to
ground, making the blower run at high speed.

Thanks!

I didnt notice any missing fan speeds on the AC controls so didn't think it was related but I guess I was wrong. Glad to know its not a critical part and eliminate it from my hunt in fixing the gremlins.
