Default Heater/AC problems

When turning on the heater or the AC in my 1991 Honda CRX SI absolutely no air comes out. What could be the problem? Please help.

It could be a few things. Do you get no air at any fan speed setting? The blower motor may be bad if this is the case, or somehow the blower motor is not getting power. If you are getting no air at only certain fan settings, it is likely the blower motor resistor.

X2. Also check the fuses for the blower motor before throwing parts at it. The motor can also fail and kinda seize up. The blower is near the passenger's feet below the glove box. Try striking the blower directly with a screwdriver handle or the palm of your hand while it's turned on. If it then turns on, the motor itself is bad and needs to be replaced. You might be able to skirt by for a little while with this method if it works.

The service manual says to discharge the A/C and remove the evaporator box to get to the blower but that is not necessary. Remove the glove box, loosen the A/C bands, then apply a few cuss words and it'll wiggle right out.

Good call to check the fuses, I usually forget to mention that. I believe you can also just pull the blower motor directly out of the blower housing without pulling the housing out of the car...3 screws from the bottom? Agreed that you can get the blower housing out without pulling the evaporator core. It is also much easier to do if you pull the dash, or at least the right side dash support. These blower motors are brushed motors, and they are all over 25 years old. Brushes wear out. When I replaced mine a few years back, the commutator was even worn out.
