might buy a 2000 accord thats stick
Hi I'm new here, and have a question. I'm thinking about buying a 2000 Accord V4 2.4L Sedan w/ manual transmission. The car has 200,000 miles on it. My question; Are there any common issues I should be looking for prior to purchasing this car? If so what are the issues as well as the severity? Your knowledge/feedback would be much appreciated.

That is a great car. The one I got is a 2.3L I 4 F23a. It did the job.
Look out for the the same stuff at every 100k. Goto the manual website and download the factory service manual, or buy it.
Inspect the hardllines in the undercar plastic cage. Check purge function in the EVAP.
Airway, filter intake piping,
Breathing valve stem seals, cam inspectitin and valve adjustment.
Circulation coolant, brake, and fuel leaks, check inspect find and fix.
You can turbo charge that F23 SOHC engine and get some very favorable results. My Accord, performance wise, is very reminiscent of the 0? SAAB 93's. It is important to use the 5 speed version. The prelude transmission fits as a swap with better ratios. Currently I'm using he Carbon fiber synchrotech H22 ratios with M factory 4.64 final drive and LSD. The 4.64 does make some gear noise /whine at 65mph that was not present with the 4.26. Not enough to bother me , but thought I would mention it. I thought a P2A8 5th gear set necessary for highway cruising rpm because of the F23 redline difference from H22. However the collar on the input side of 5 th gear needs to be machined 3-4 mm. Then Yeah , it is pretty cool.
Those $100 turbos work incredibly. Might spend $1-2000 setting it up right. 8 psi and it was purring like a cat. Something I did to it after years of family service.
Honda reliability and Born From Jets power, a formidable combination.
