Default Lower control arm bolts snapped

I know this has been covered a few times but I didn’t really want to dig up threads from years ago.

I went to install my rear suspension parts today and when I went to loosen the middle LCA bolt the head just snapped off. I tried to just turn the nut on the other side but it’s just twisting the shock/spring and I can’t really get it to budge. I also noticed in the process that the outermost bolt is snapped somewhere, the bolt head turns but the other end doesn’t.

Anyone have any at home/DIY tips to get these out? Realistically I’m probably going to end up just buying new LCAs. I figure the bushings have seen better days, and I’m sure getting the bolts out will just make things worse. I’m also going to probably have to pick up any tools needed to get the bolts out, so cheaper is probably better

Grind the ends off.

The bushings are done.

Do you have a grinder with a cut off wheel? I had to cut the bolts on my 98 Civic uppers. Once the control arm is removed cut a slot in the left over bolt and use a large screw driver to get it out.

I dont have a grinder with a cut off wheel. I've bascically been picking up the tools i need as i go along for this one, i knew when i got the car that i would end up having to get some tools along the way, since my basic hand tools probably wouldn't cut it. If thats the best route, I can pick one up and get to cutting.

question about the outermost bolt (the one right under the brake drum) though, from what it looked and felt like, there isn't a nut on the other side (or the one I have is completely rounded). I'm sure with enough work i can get the head of it out, but its not like there is anything I can cut on the other side. Is that something i would need to try to cut between te arm and the mounting point, then drill out or just kinda hack it up and add a nut/bolt setup once i get it all out?

Yes.

Angle grinders are cheap at harbor freight. A sawzall works too and has a thinner blade.
