Hey guys,

I'm running a 1999 4DR Accord DX with a 1996 Prelude VTEC engine in it (H22A).

It's a JDM we bought from JDM Orlando.

Motor went in and ran fine for a few events but in the last race (24 hours @ VIR) we got a check engine light that came on and car continued to run fine but VTEC wouldn't kick-in until about 5,200 RPM versus 4,200 before. So coming out of corners you had to either keep the revs high when shifting or get bogged down as it reved up.

Can anyone provide some advice as to the nature of the P1382 (we've looked it up and see the description) and possible reasons why it might be causing the VTEC to delay?

That is a distributor code. What ECU are you running ???

 

We're running a stock ECU (Picture attached).

The cars been running fine the last few races, it wasn't until about 18 hours into a 24 hour race that the CEL came on and the VTEC moved out about 1,000 rpm.

Even with CEL on, car didn't hesitate or idle rough.

We have a Euro Type R motor, any suggestions on where we could get distributor parts as the local Honda dealer doesn't have or isn't able to get them.
