where is the cable that turns heat on from cold in 2008 Honda Element. Front desk guys say it does not have actuator to turn heat on, just a cable and the Mechanic manually pulls on the cable but they =won't teach me where and how to do it. They charge a lot to do it and it take a couple minutes for them. RIPOFF< Please teach me where the cable is!

 

The water valve control cable attaches inside the cabin as shown in the attached photo. That cable goes out to into the engine compartment and the other end attaches to the water valve on the firewall.

You may want to consider bringing your vehicle somewhere else to get it properly fixed.
