Default 1994 Accord LX - Overheating issue

1st post and I'm not too knowledgeable yet so apologies in advance.

Car (1994 Accord LX Coupe) is overheating and I am trying to fix it on my own. Here is what has been happening:
  • Sometimes the temperature gauge will go up after only 5 minutes of driving
  • The car has legitimately overheated in the past but my father took it to Pep Boys about a year ago for them to fix it.
  • I turn on the AC and neither fan turns on
I tested the fans by using alligator clips and connecting directly to the battery, and they do indeed work. While connected to the alligator clip, the condenser fan turned on when the AC turned on (Right fan - looking from the front)

Any other suggestions?

I also need some clarification regarding the picture I took because I've seen so many different details given on part name/location/etc. Can anyone please tell me what parts these are?

Is your fan timer faulty? (Little box behind glove compartment) also if you stick a paper clip in the red circle sender plug do the fans come on?
