Skunk2 Springs and Shocks
Hey everyone, I was looking to get some opinions from the community. I have recently been giving a lot of consideration to going the route of Skunk2 Springs and Shocks over the coilover route for my 09 Civic LX. I get there are a lot more adjustabilty options and what not with coilovers, but honestly, I just kinda like the simplicity of shocks and springs. Also, seeing as how the Springs and shocks straight from Skunk2's site will be only about $610 shipped...Thats a bit more affordable as well. So my question is, since i am planning both shocks and springs, not just springs like I see people do..is it really that much worse off than coilovers? Any input and suggestions would be great, and please, no offense or anything personal...but I really am not looking for the "coilover Stanced" fanboy biased people...But just some legit opinions, both good and bad from people who have run both or experience personally with such. Thanks in advance!!
If you are a set it and forget it sort of person, your direction should be great.
The one drawback is, if the way the car sits after install isn't right where you want it, you have to send back and reorder etc etc.
That's the part you noted the coil over has over just normal struts setups. After install you can tweak them to get the exact stance you want.
If on the other hand you switch it up, drop it for track, raise it back up for daily road driving, the standard strut setup just will not cut it for you.

Yeah, it wont be getting lowered and raised a lot, Itll sit a little lower than id like, the Skunk2 springs will give it 2" in the back, I think 2.25" in the front..but Im coil with it over all...Maybe just search for some Eibach springs or similar before deciding completely. Thanks for the input though, its appreciated, and gives me a little more to think about.
so for daily driver but just a bit better handling, the skunk springs and shocks (non-coilovers) should be more than enough? btw i own a 2012 civic lx 4dr automatic, it's my commuter car and will not see tracks of any type whatsoever. Thanks in advance.
