Help - Parking Brake Cable Questions
I will be replacing my parking brake cables on my 1991 Civic Hatchback, STD trim.
Do the cables enter the car under the back seat or through the "Hump" behind the console?
What parts can I expect to have to remove from underneath the car to access the cables?
Any helpful tips will be arrpreciated,
Steve-T

The cables come into the cab about a foot behind where the e-brake handle is located. Can't tell you what your going to have to take out....possibly the rear calipers. It's been years since I removed mine after swapping to rear disk brakes.
Thanks Creator.
I have drum brakes in the rear. I can separate the cable from the drum. When I follow the cable from there it appears to go in front of the gas tank, then it disappears behind some shielding that I hope won't be too hard to remove once I determine how it's attached.

Not sure how different the hatch is from a sedan, but I just did this on my sedan a couple of weeks ago. I ended up having to lower the part of the exhaust between the muffler and the catalytic converter to be able to remove the heat shield, which was only held on with 3 or 4 10mm bolts, and came off easily. One of the bolts that holds the cable to the car body was incredibly close to the gas tank, but I was able to get it out without lowering the tank by using an open ended wrench.
Thanks DaX and Evan for the help.
I wound up lowering the the muffler pipe-catalytic converter and removing the small sheet metal shield that was attached to the bottom of the car by a few bolts just like you guys described.
