Default Catch can/oil separator

Anyone install one of these? I recently did on my 2003 HX Coupe with 82K miles and found it to be efficient. After less than 100 miles, oil is in the clear catch container shown in the photo. With these miles of mostly in town driving I'm sure there is wear on rings and seals but if I can catch any of the oil vapors going into the intake path I'll be happy. At least the fuel/air charge should be cleaner for combustion. I've installed it so it can be easily removed for emission inspection every 2 years by using the original PCV line with an inline splice added in the line to the separator, The return line just slides on and vacuum holds it anyway. There is a YouTube on both of our Civics

I understand since 2006 they are not needed on a Honda but there is one on our 2015 anyway and nothing has shown up in it so far, I'll remove it after a year or so if it is not needed.

What benefits do you seek to gain from adding a catch can?
I've only really seen them being useful in engines running high boost where catch cans can prevent detonation.
But I don't understand what purpose they serve on a stock NA low performance car.

Nice clean headlights by the way

utn, I totally agree with your stating an oil separator should be on supercharged vehicles. With the added boost, thinner oils, and piston rings for reducing drag one is a must for knowledgable car owners. But if I can stop any oil containing vapor from an engine I'll do it. The intake runners after the PCV port will have oil film on it and also the add fuel from the computer to burn this semi combustible vapor doee cost some in fuel mileage and effiency. You can see in my clear container that in 100 miles there is oil separated out. I realize it's got 82k miles and probably won't be one that gets 300k miles in its life, but it's already doing something. The separator itself can be bought for less than $20 even tho the Steeda kit is more. I've owned this HX new and it's never been kept inside because of lack of room. I take pride in all our vehicles. Here's a full photo.
