Default Auto Tranny swap 94 to 01 Accord

Hi guys . can i swap an auto tranny from an 94-96 model to an 00-01 model ..I have an 01 accord . and some times from "D" to "N" or "R" it takes long to make the change and some time it stays on "N" even tho its on reverse o drive . or can it be the selenoides ? Help

You'll get better response in the Accord forum.
Quick answer. No 90-97 trans is not compatible with 98-02.
If the trans is staying in 'neutral' you will want to verify first that there is enough ATF in the transmission. If there is whining coming from the transmission bellhousing, more than likely the sump pickup is impacted and the pump is cavitating. No flow, no go.
