Why would the battery be overheating and leaking?
I just recently bought a 2005 Honda Civic and the battery overheated and was leaking battery fluid. Replaced the battery and nothing changed it still overheated and leaked again, I don't have any experience with vehicles so if someone could help me out that would be great. I have tried researching it my self but all i keep getting is "engine overheating" results. Thanks

Something is wrong with your regulating in the alternator. A good battery shop can check the amperage with a clamp-on ammeter while they have also attached a DC voltmeter. One or the other is high. If you every have the occasion to use a battery charger even at the low setting the battery will get warm even sitting on a bench out of the car. Good luck....
Take the car to a Autoparts store and have them load test the system. They will tell you want you need.
Do you see any stickers resembling a date on the battery? Usually a one or two digit month and a year, or a letter and a number.
