Rebuild- B7XA vs BAXA
Hey guys,
So my transmission on my 00 accord 2.3 Automatic is on its way out. I was going to procure a tranny from the local junkyard and try to re-build it as a winter project. I know I know, everyone says to not re-build it myself, but I live in Wisconsin and we have long winters. I figure if I buy a second I can take my time, then install it and possibly sell the one in the car now for the price I paid for the other. I have the helms manual which has very detailed diagrams and I found a pretty great video of a professional re-building a b7xa from a 6cyl. accord.
I was wondering if any of you happened to know how similar than these trannies are in terms of rebuild (B7XA vs BAXA)? I have the manual but I'm more of a visual learner.
Thanks

there are lots of videos on youtube showing rebuilds
the best guy is hiram gutierrez, he uses the username Automatic Transmission and he's got a lot of good vids uploaded
i would say set up a camera on a tripod to record what you do for reference

Thanks! The b7xa video I'm referencing is Hiram's! His videos are great. He has one of a 4 cyl teardown that would get me most of the way there.
Also, is re building the BAXA do able? The more I read the more mixed results I find. Everything from its easy- just takes patience to it will never work properly. Thoughts?
I found a place here that has the BAXA. It might be cheaper than having to buy a rebuild kit. It seems to have good reviews on the internet as well.

You would just swap over your existing sensors and solenoids to the new tranny.
