Recaro on eg Seat Slider question?
Hello,
I recently purchased an original Type r Dc2 recaro seat for 150, I couldn't let it go; a steal. However, the recaro seat doesn't have slider or bracket. I'm trying to find a solution in order to fit my 1993 EG hatch. Now i do have a, which came with the car, recaro NRG replica seat on the eg, I was wonder if the rep NRG slider would fit the real recaro? If not, what other aftermarket sliders fit on Type r Dc2 recaro seat? Called couple imported places, but only sale as whole, not as parts. I have looked at many forums advising multiple solutions, nonetheless, most advice is outdated, websites don't exist or Joe motorsport company went out business. Any enlightenment would be nice.
:
Thanks.

If you have both seats, start taking each one apart and find out.
Otherwise, you can order some aftermarket brackets and sliders from many of the aftermarket seat companies that will fit, you just have to research which ones will.

I agree with Caoboy. Give it a try with what you have, and be to sure to come back & update your thread with your findings.
Using an OEM DC2 seat rail is far-and-away the easiest way.
Pros:
- The slider and bracket are one unit
- They are double locking rails (both rails lock)
- The seatbelt anchor is on the upper portion (so it slides with the seat)
Cons:
- The OEM Recaro slider is made specifically for the Japanese market ("Short" people)
If you are tall, you will find the OEM rails don't slide back nearly as far as an american market vehicle. I am 6'0" and I have to sit with my Recaro almost all the way back to get my knees low enough to clear the steering wheel. I also had install a tilt column, aftermarket steering wheel, and 3" extension to make it work comfortably.
Your other option is to use aftermarket setups. There are various options. Most of them are "universal" sliders combined with "custom" brackets. The bracket mounts to the car and the slider connects the bracket to the seat. In this setup, the seatbelt anchor is a fixed point on the bracket so it does not move back & forth with the seat.
There are single-unit chassis-specific options from some companies but who knows what is still available. I know both Spoon and Recaro have made them for the Japanese market in the past.....but I doubt you can still get them today.

Thanks for your input. Really appreciated
Attempt to fit the replica sliders this weekend and will post what happen. If not, then, I'm going to try 94eg recommendation on oem DC2 seat rail. I'm actually going to the junkyard for other parts. Might as well try DC2 rail.
Would the DC2 rails bolt right up with the EG bolt pattern?

The DC2 you rails you need are specifically from the JDM ITR that came with Recaro seats. You can't just use any integra seat rails. Not something you will find in the local junkyard (unless your in Japan I guess).
Yes the EG & DC have the same bolt pattern. Also be aware that JDM DB8 4-door ITR seat rails will ALSO fit, but they mount the seat a lot higher. Don't get them. They look identical except the legs that bolt to the floor are extended a bit.
