odyssey belt change for more extreme climates
My mechanic is saying our timing belt is needing to be changed at 60,000 not the 105,000 (a recommendation for places like California) because we live in a climate with hot summers and freezing winters.

How old is your belt?
Honda gives years/miles intervals. I would add couple of years to Honda specs. But you need to make a decision yourself. Do you do excessive idling? If you do - follow Honda recommendations.
