Fuel line flares and fittings
I seriously need some guidance for repairing/replacing fuel lines for my 1995 Accord EX, 4-cyl.
The picture on the parts ordering page isn't clear, and I really got the impression by people replacing (repairing??) fuel lines that I just needed to double flare them like the brake lines. I thought the fittings would be the same, just a different size. BUT when I saw an aftermarket fuel line kit on Ebay (for a 2000 Accord), the line ends are not flared in the same way--some are squeezed, one has an o-ring slot. I'm not sure if that's also true of my car. The reality is, the lines look so bad I'm afraid if I move them, they'll fall apart. Maybe it looks worse than it is. (So when people say they double flare, is this just based on cutting out a segment and putting a new segment into an existing line?)
So what I want to know, by anyone with any experience replacing them, is what fittings, and what tools I need to do this job--special fuel line flaring tool?? Or will a regular one work. I ordered Ni-copp in 5/16 and 3/8. If I can do this today, I want to---otherwise I have to cancel my inspection appointment and I really need my car.
I took my car for pre-inspection and nothing was mentioned about the fuel lines. When they said my brake lines are leaking, I directly asked about the fuel lines, and they said the fuel lines are not leaking so I really considered doing fuel lines as being optional, but just a good idea--and now it looks like I have to.
(I know I put an inquiry about this in my thread about brake lines/fuel lines--when I thought fuel lines were optional--but I wanted to draw attention to the fact that I really need help regarding the fuel lines right now. Sorry!)

The flares don't look like bubble or double flare, but kind of like a mushroom (in image of aftermarket lines for 2000 Accord). Not sure if I need push connect "flares" or if even you can use threaded adapters (with the right fitting end), then do a double flare?
Any info is more than appreciated! I literally stopped what I was doing yesterday when I saw the lines and am feeling pretty defeated....

And... I tore up the supply line trying to loosen the frozen nut with vise grips...

I saw some videos of people installing nylon line--it looks a lot easier than messing around with flaring fuel line.... I'd be interesting in knowing the pros and cons.
