I have Honda Citty ZX 2006 (India) with CVT gear box . Car has done 60K and have maintained in good condition. Recently Car Engine RPM was fluctuating in N and D position with or without AC. Fluctuation was from 900 RPM t 1200 RPM. Fluctuation were intermittent but quite frequent without AC , and less with AC . I had given car to Honda SC , Scanning does not show any ERROR. Honda cleaned the throttle body and IACV and informed me that problem still persist. They indicated that Problem is with CVT and needs to replace CVT and may be throttle body too. Cost of repair is 3 times cars resale value. I have collected car. I drove car approx 60 Kms and does not find any issue now (problem of RPM fluctuation vanished). I showed it local mechanic , he does not find any issue. I called up and asked them how did they narrowed to CVT. They indicated that it is falling in STALL test. I do not have any report from them.
Only change I find now that car moves faster in D without pressing accelerator. Unable to understand how does CVT controls engine speed ? Should I dispose car.
