So I came across the ECU on my swapped civic (d16z6 motor) and it's running a p75 B-series ECU. I was having trouble starting it and replaced the ICM, wouldn't start when moisture was in the air/ at night. Gotta finish the tune-up on it, acquired the car on a trade and the guy didn't know anything about it.

So, anyways, I'm wondering if anyone has come across the paired ECU with the motor.

that's why you don't trade cars. Most of the time, the car is rigged up or ragged out.

 

The D16Z6 is a VTEC engine. The P75 ECU is a non-VTEC ECU.

You'll need a P28 ECU to run that D16Z6 properly.

 

... or chip the ECU and solder in the VTEC components on the circuit board and add a P28 programmed chip.

 

having the wrong ecu doesn't prevent the car from starting, just runs like ****. Still don't even know what car this is in.
