Default Alternator voltage on load

Honda Accord, 1998 miles 63,000.

Alternator tested at 14.6 no load and 12.06 on load.

Do I need to replace the Alternator because of low voltage output?

Might just be the brushes. You can try popping it open and seeing how much meat the brushes have on them.

There are videos on youtube for replacing the brushes. You can do some research to see if you'd like to try.

rockauto has the brushes for about $13 or so

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...tor+brush,2424

the dealer has em for $25

part 3

if you want to just replace the alternator Pure Energy makes quality products

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...generator,2412

you'd buy it, when you get the new one, go back to the rockauto site and do a "core return" and "print shipping label", and they will give you a label to slap on the box to send back, and they will just deduct the small amount from the core
