My car is totaled...
i was driving down a street and the lady pulled out to make a left hand turn at the last second i slamed on my brakes but couldn't stop tried to steer away but no abs....

It was her fault i was acctually doing the speed limit both airbags went off me and my friend are ok.... she even slowed down or stopped in the middle of the road, if she sped up i might stilll have it today....

after 1 week of getting it back from the shop spending almost 2500 it gets totaled and i'm probbaly only gonna get 4000 in all for the car.... i dunno i might sue her because me and my friend's necks hurt and so does my shoulder ....

but the engine still runs ....wastegat on the turbo is broke... intercooler broke... it might be salvageable but the guy said usually when both the air bags go off it's totalled...

can someone give me advice about the parts like will her insuarance pay for it? or if anyone has a crx shell let me know i'll get my engine back and swap it into that i'll try to get pics asap...

ALSO they admited they didn't see me and they were sorry they got a ticket failure to yeild to left turn....

 

OH NO! Damn dude and you just got it back together. What you going to do scottie? Do you have full coverage? Do you have your reciepts?

i'm lookin to buy a crx man soo be on the look out for one i want one with a good body thoguh and the motor i can give 2 ***** about.... man i just hope her insurance gives me something for my mods

 

Sorry about your car man! Hope you and your friend are ok.

Here in BC, if your car is written off, you have a chance to buy it back for really cheap before they sell it for parts, do that, and just get a car with a blown motor, and transfer everything.

that's what i want to do hopefully it works out but finding a shell is hard

Same thing happened with me.

I had about 25k invested in my MR2.

IT was stolen and I get 9k from insurance.

Most insurance companies total out FWD cars after a frontal collision and airbag deployment.

Also, many insurance companies let you buy back the totaled car.

In Indiana, and with my insurance company, Farm Bureau, the buy-back is 8% of bluebook value.

If your engine is worth more thant the 8% or so that you will pay, as it's at least a 10-year old CRX, then I'd definitely buy it back, even for the parts.

 

wow 8% wouldn't be bad i hope that's how all state will do it... 320(4000*.08) for that whole thing back would be nice

thanks alot i'll know by tommorow what the insurance company wants to do if the guy says it can be fixed then i'm gonna get it fixed if not we'll see what happens

EDIT: Me and my passenger are ok and the other car the driver was shocked a bit but her and her passenger are ok too

Whatever you do, dont take that neck injury lightly. I say this after I had an accident many years ago. This guy pulled out in front of me and I t-boned him, smashing my front end up pretty bad. My neck was a little stiff for a couple of days but got a little better. His insurance company offered me $500 bucks at first and I said no. Then 5 minutes later they offered me $1000 and I took it. What happens is they make you sign a release form stating that you can never sue them for more if you take the money right then and there. This is where I made my mistake. A couple of months later after my neck really never healed, I regreted not getting it checked out by a professional doctor. so at a minimum, when they offer you money say that you want to get your neck looked at. Dont take the first offer either. If you for some reason have to get physical therapy or some other type of help down the road, you'll be thankful that you didnt just take the first offer. My neck still hurts me to this day, get it checked out or you could be in some serious pain later in life.

well ok i talked to insurance and they want to total my car i just need to provide receipts for everything i bought ...i have most but

there is still some i need cause i bought the car with the turbo kit turbo timer and boos controler and some other stuff

if anyone has receipts for a Greddy SOHC turbo and a Type 31 front mount(the smaller one)
please help me out...
