2002 Honda Civic automatic transmission revs high before shifting
2002 Honda Civic-80000 Miles- automatic transmission revs high before shifting, at and around 4000 RPM. 1-2 up-shifting, maybe 2-3 up-shifting
Check Engine Light came on at Dash.
Error Code ID engine compartment TPS at or near fuel injection area.
Anyone shared this experience?
This is what was performed by Mechanic after performing scan.
Removed air intake. Removed, cleaned, wiped, Reinstalled TPS. Cleaned area around sensor
Light went off at Dash.
Shifting returned to normal...for now. Seemed to be lucky. But, was this really the problem's cause?

It's possible. The ecu/tranny needs correct throttle position to know when to shift. However, I'm not sure how that fixes a bad tps. It's possible it was originally somehow unplugged and he just plugged it in and charged you for it.
