Loose Clutch Problem (2002 Civic Si)
The last two times I have driven on the freeway I have had this problem:
I am in 5th gear traveling at a high rate of speed for a prolonged period of time, at least 40 min. When I exit the freeway and decelerate, the clutch feels super loose and soft and I cannot downshift. This usually goes on for 30 seconds, but both times, after my RPMs fall significantly I am finally able to shift into gear again. The clutch remains relatively soft for a period of time after the issue but allows for shifting though not easily.
As I said above it's a 2002 Civic Si. The only thing I have done to it recently is I replaced the MCU with a used part. Not sure if that is relevant...
any thoughts on what could be the problem?

- Doesn't happen unless I have been driving on the freeway for a while, though I have not discovered the minimum time required to instigate this issue
- Doesn't feel like grinding when I attempt to shift, just won't seem to engage/ disengage the gear
- I am planning on changing the transmission fluid tomorrow.
