Default Better Turbine Housing Seal: Vband or T3/T4?

If anyone has experience comparing the two.

I've never had issues with standard housings and exhaust leaks, but I do normally have to take extra steps to insure that the bolts don't back out (nordlock washers, or Stage8 locking tabs).

I really like the cleanliness and simplicity of these Tial Vband housings, but I'm curious how they respond to vibration and heat, or if they're prone to developing exhaust leaks. No gasket, smaller physical footprint for more bay clearance, easier install, and less weight hanging off the manifold... It's definitely peaked my interest.

No, they don't have negative effects because they use a small male lip as part of the v-band turbine weld flange on both the inlet & outlet. If you notice on the housings themselves, the turbine outlet is female. You can't just use any v-band from PTE, Vibrant, or some e-bay company. they won't fit the same.

The male weld flange/female turbine outlet lip, lock the v-band clamp in place. No issues with vibration or negative heat effects. (unlike using gaskets).
Notice in the photo below how the inlet & outlet flanges are female...slightly recessed inward, similar to the bottom of a wastegate where a "fire ring" would seat inside the flange.

Specific part numbers you'll need for a full v-band conversion.

GTVFL3.0 - Inlet Flange
VC300 - Inlet Clamp
VBF300M - Outlet Flange (TiAL). The Garrett Cast ones use VBF300MG
VC355 - Outlet Clamp

Awesome, thank you Shodan. Answers all my questions nicely. I'll definitely be experimenting with some of these Vband housings then.

I'd seen the male/female lips on Vband before, but was unclear on the options for parts mating together. Looking forward to this now!
