Default I found a 2nd ECU in my car...

Today i took the rear panels off to replace the rear speakers, and behind the passenger side rear panel, there was what looked to be an ECU. It said "NEC" on it.
Is this the ABS ECU? It surprised me to find it back there. Anyone know what it does? It was smaller than the regular ECU and more square-shaped.

SRS unit
I'm pretty sure the SRS is under the dash in the 1992-1995 Civic. I know for usre it is on the 1992 Civic because I stripped my SRS ECU out of my car.

I'm thinking it's the ABS ECU too.

Does it have orange plugs? Orange denotes ABS usually in the Honda stuff.

Actually you're right, I think I recall seeing my SRS under the radio on my Civic.

Can you put ABS on a car that didn't origanally have ABS?

I am sure you can. Depending on the application, would in most cases probably be a pain in the ****.

Yes, but it is truly a big pain as the guy before me just said.

You'd have to get the ABS modulator, allthe brake hardlines, all the wheel sensors and hardware, ABS ECU, etc. and it would suck.

I'd never add ABS because of the degree of difficulty - but I'm lazy sometimes.
