Default EG hatch B18c Turbo IAT sensor issue

Sensor was reading 282F, I checked the wiring and there was no continuity from the ECU to the sensor on the Red/yellow wire, spliced in a new wire just to test sensor reads at 200-216F and fluctuates but is definitely not reading correctly. I've ordered a new sensor, but from my understanding these sensors don't fail ever. I'd like to get my Hondata tuned but this sensor is making it difficult.

Any Ideas?

First, pull the sensor out of the intake or manifold, and if the end has been melted (by heat from the turbo), replace.

They do fail. Resistance can be measured and compared with the chart in the FSM. Measure both at the sensor (harness unplugged) and from the ECU end (sensor plugged in, but ECU unplugged) to check the wiring. The resistance of good wiring is approximately zero, so the two readings should be the same.
