Default Z6 swap- tech question

Ok, to start off- yes i did a search. I also have read many threads on Z6 swaps on rexes too. So- here's my question. I might be getting an 89 CRX HF, and I want to do a D16Z6 sohc vtec swap. 89-91 Si trans, P28 ECU (OBDI), and hopefully the GReddy turbo kit w/ fmic. I dont want to use the pm6 w/ a vtec controller. I want to do it right w/ the P28 and run OBDI. The thing that im confused about is the wiring and OBDI. If I got the Entire 5G EX wiring harness and the P28 ECU, would i need one of those OBD0 OBDI conversion harnesses? I dont think that I would, but Im not 100% sure. If anyone knows for sure please let me know....thanx in advance

What do you mean the ENTIRE harness? Do you plan to take the time and trouble to remove your under dash harness and run the 5g one? That's a total waste of time IMO. Just the wiring for the gauge cluster would be 100% not worth your time.

The conversion harness plugs into your stock ECU harness. The ECU plugs are different... so this just converts from the 4g spec to the 5g spec. You "could" cut your stock ECU plugs off and solder on the 5g plugs. This may save you a few $'s and keep you from trying to swap out a dash harness.

Engine harness alone won't do the trick! It won't plug into your ECU harness. So, you swap out the ECU harness as well.... now you have the engine and ECU harness, but it won't plug into the dash harness.

really? He works at McGrath? I might know him. All the parts guys know me...and some of the mechanics. They've been giving me the employee discount forver cuz im in there for sooo often. My friends are all mechanics/in school to be mechanics. They can do it for sure. I just need to know the particulars. So, I'm going to need one of those OBD0 OBDI conversion harnesses from blown90hatch then, right? I dont think that my B16 wiring was this hard. 4 wires added to the stock si harness, plus a ground....damn...
