Hi. I have 98 accord LXI 2.3 auto and the transmission is surging like its in neutral when changing up a gear while driving like its failing to engage with then nxt gear Does this mean transmission is on its way out?; any help is appreciated

 

it sounds like it's slipping which means yes a rebuild is in its future

 

Do the basics first.
Verify fluid level is within the hash marks.
Verify there are no codes stored in the PCM.
