2005 CR-V overheating and a/c blowing warm air
my 2005 cr-v's a/c has started intermittently blowing warm air and my car has started coming close to overheating. Don't know if they are related but both started at about the same time
The two issues probably are related. Since the AC puts a draw on the engine while its running, the computer will check engine temps when you turn on the AC to verify that the engine isn't already in the danger zone. If the AC is engaged and then the engine begins to overheat, the AC will disengage to help alleviate stress and make it easier for the cooling system to pull the engine back down to an acceptable temperature. Your CR-V's cooling system is designed to have way more than enough capacity to keep the engine cool while running the AC in every type of scenario, aside from heavy towing possibly, so you need to figure out the root cause of your overheating issue. If the AC only blows warm when the engine runs hot, don't worry about the AC. Fix your overheating cause and the AC will be fine.
