Default First Time Drag Racing

I own a k swapped ek hatch, and plan on racing at my local drag strip next month, and wondering if i should run my street tires, or borrow a pair of slicks/radials. if i do borrow slicks/radials, should i worry about my trans or axles? i've been told to preload the drivetrain on the line, but i'm still a little worried.
Street tires are hankook all season tires 205/45/15, the slicks i would be borrowing are 23x8.5r15

basic engine specs:
k20z3 and trans. from mugen si
Ktuned k swap header
kpro v4
hasport k swap axles

Since it's your first time, i'd say just go out on street tires and have some fun. Launch at a lower rpm and let her rip 2nd-4th (or 5th)

I use 23x8.5x13 slicks. Stock trans and base axes and haven't had an issue yet. Preload would help

Preloading is everything. Not only will it help protect your drivetrain, but it will help you get a cleaner launch with a better 60 foot time. I went from a consistent 1.6+ 60' to a 1.5 once I got the preload down. Plus my launch felt so much smoother.
