Default B Swap CRX - Not enough hub to center front wheels

As I am tearing through this car trying to solve a vibration issue, I have focused in on the front wheel hub assembly. I do not know where all of the parts came from, but it has a B swap so the knuckles have been changed.

The front brakes are also "upgraded" according to the previous owner, having "10.8 Legend front brakes with 2 piston calipers" if there even is such a thing. I've found out that a lot of what he said about the car isn't true.

But anyway my problem is that with this front hub and brake combination, there is almost none of the hub sticking thru the rotor to be able to center the wheels. Couple that with the fact they are aftermarket wheels with hub centric rings, which also have a taper to them, and I am making no contact with the hub to center it. I am basically stud centric at this point.

Making matters worse, the wheels rub on the brake caliper bracket to the inside without any sort of spacer on

I'm at a loss. What is a proper combination of front knuckles and brakes that should give me a proper centering hub? Or is this a common issue?

How likely is it that this cobble job is causing my vibration at 30-40mph? I've already checked just about everything else possible, believe me.

well you can always swap knuckles to crx or civic dx ones and youd be good to go as far as centering your wheels anyway
a vibration at 30 or 40 is almost always the tires not being balanced or have bumps on them or bent wheels thou
first id start by shaving down those caliper brackets a bit so they dont rub on the wheels and then go from there

pics of brake setup and knuckle castings. should be able to tell you what you have...

how big are the brakes?

no, to answer your question, it isn't what people imagine, there just isn't THAT much lip there. the hubs are pretty much all the same shape, there is NO difference between 4 lug hubs... I was just closely looking at this issue too, my 99 SiR got new wheel bearings and new brakes and stuff... upon reassembly I couldn't seat the rotor flat on the hub. Closer inspection, and I found some ape used some kind of puller and warped the hub!!! Anyways, I was closely looking at the area where the rotor seats onto the hub and where the wheel seats on the hub... there is like... 3 mm maybe for the wheel.

Shaving down the caliper brackets won't cause any issues? I need to take off about 1-2mm.

I put my 3mm wheel spacers on the front to fix the clearance issue. I just found that someone had use flat washers to space out the passenger side slightly to clear the caliper bracket, the spacer should work a little better.

I just went through having my wheels and tires checked and re-checked, they are good. I am now thinking that my axles are binding or something else causing the vibration. Going to check the length.

yea shaving down the caliper bracket by only a few mm wont do anything to it
what i do when ever i get this problem on a customers car

step one = is that i get the wheel on and make it scrape a little so it marks the caliper
then i take a angle grinder and shave down only till the mark is gone

and then repeat step one

untill the wheel no longer rubs
its an easy fix but it does take some time
dont jump the gun and shave off a crap load at once
just little by little
just erase the wheel marks every time till its done

on my old crv i had to shave off about 4 mm off the caliper
no problem

I'll keep that in mind if I need to do that, thanks!

I ended up using some 3mm spacers I had, then had my camber set to -2 so they wouldn't rub the fenders. Should be all set.
