Default Question regarding boosting h22

hi dudes

I have finished installing turbo on my 98 prelude h22. I have a small Turbo pulled from Nissan 300 zx and I am wondering how much psi I can push with it because I read many articles says to push 5 psi on a big turbo, what about a small one?

the stock turbo from a 300zx is waaaaaay too small. it's barely big enough to power a non-vtec d15 sohc civic lol. get rid of it, get something more normal sized. hell, a 60 trim t3 would still be too small but would still be way better than that tiny thing you have. remember, the 300zx had two turbos, and they were too small for even that motor. which is a 3.0L, meaning each turbo is only power 1.5L of engine displacement, on an engine that only revs to 7k and has lower efficiency than a honda motor

thanks for your reply. The one that i have right now pulled from 88 300zx. I would just use it for a year maybe. I am currently saving some $$$ for mahle gold series pistons, Eagle connecting rods, bigger turbo, injectors etc...

i say a 60 trim t3 does just fine. ive been boosted for over a year and .60 almost for me is a little to big. the spool up isnt the same vs a smaller turbo, but im running 8psi with no problems at all. and high miles

you might be a little confused on what turbo you have, no offense. trim and a/r are two completely different things. a lot of larger t3/t4 turbos have 0.60 a/r compressor housings, but that has nothing to do with trim. also, the 60-1 is not a 60 trim t3, it is a large t4 compressor. If you have a true 60 trim t3 on an h22, something must be wrong if you think it's a little too big lol, especially considering it would build boost below 2000rpm and reach full boost around 3000-3200, with nearly zero lag at any rpm above 4k.
