90 Accord Power Steering Pump Pulley
I'm gonna try and replace the p.s. pump myself. Never done one. The only two problems I foresee happening is not being able to get the pulley nut loose, then getting the pulley off the shaft. Will the pulley easily slide off the shaft once the nut is off?, or will I need a special tool to get the pulley off the shaft? Is it possible to loosen the pulley nut while the pump is still installed on the car? - that way the belt will hold tension on the pulley along with putting a screwdriver throught a pulley hole to hold the pulley still. Thanks

ideally you want a spanner wrench but I found this tool at Harbor Freight for dirt cheap that should work just good enough to hold the pulley from spinning to allow you to get the nut off....keep in mind that on these pulleys the nut is reverse threaded so you will be going clockwise to remove the nut

Thanks, I live one mile from a Harbor Freight, .. after the nut is removed the pulley should slide off easy enough? I noticed videos of folks using an impact wrench while barely holding the pulley. I've a freind might have an impact wrench. I'm doing my homework on this first, then when I have the chance I'll get after it. I think I can do it. Thanks again.
