2012 Civic LX center console USB not responding.
Hello all!
I recently bought a 2012 Honda Civic LX and the USB in the center console does not detect a device. Here is a list of the trouble shooting I tried:
- Turned the car off and on.
- Turned the iPhone off and on.
- Tried to "reset" the radio by holding the power button from the 'off' stage and from the 'on' stage (don't think it did anything).
- Tried to plug in a USB flash drive formatted correctly with MP3 files, no response.
- Inspected the port, no damage, no evidence of corrosion, no pins bent, port looks flawless.
- Reseated the fuse for "Center ACC" and "ACC", but did not replace either of them as they looked in good shape still.
None of this rendered any sort of different result. When I plug my iPhone in, it does not charge or indicate that it is connected to anything at all, in addition the display indicates "USB No Data" letting me know obviously that it is not recognized.
I'm not sure what the next troubleshooting steps would be. I'm also unsure if the fuses I pulled were the right ones, cause I read somewhere online that the "radio" fuse is what needed to be pulled but I couldn't find a label for that on the fuse map.
I've been trying to figure this out on my own and ask around, do online research, etcetera, but I have gotten no where.
Thanks so much for any suggestions, also thank you for your time!
