Default Cooling pipes in front of radiator?

EF noob here, can anyone tell me what these cooling pipes in front of my radiator are for? I've done a lot of googling and flipped through the whole cooling section of the Haynes manual, but I can't find anything. I want to replace mine because they're rusted to hell and look like they'll cause problems soon...

Thanks guys!

Automatic transmission cooler is my guess.

Sometimes they're built into the radiator, sometimes they're not....
Or power steering cooler.

Or repurposed for an oil cooler.

Just taking a look at where the lines go would be the obvious way to confirm......

Thanks a ton! I think I'm gonna look into getting an aftermarket one, this design sucks and looks ugly.

Design is pretty awesome since it's held up for this long.
You don't need a lot of cooling for the PS system and nobody is going to be looking at that cooler behind a bumper anyway.
It took you all this time to even notice it

It's interesting, not all civics with PS ran coolers, i wonder if they're even really needed.

yeah, after checking online I might just pick up a replacement OEM one, they're around the same price as a Chinese aftermarket one.

yeah I couldn't find info on it anywhere online, I guess they're just not super common (or not many people have issues/talk about them online)
