Honda CR-V 2.2 2013 HELP!!
soo a couple of weeks ago my AWD light turned on when my partner was driving and after that it would occasionally come on so we took it to honda and they said there is a rear differential problem and they would need to order a part when they ordered that part and went to fit it they then said there was a crack in the rear differential and a whole new one would be needed and quoted me £2700. we went on ebay and got one for £400 and they agreed to fit it, yesterday they called me to say they have done the car but the check engine light is on and they cant figure out why, after a while they called back and said it is either the turbo needs replacing which is around £3000 or something wrong with the vaccum but they cannot tell me what it is until next week as they need to order in a special part to see what the problem is.. does anyone know if these things are related ? because I cant see why so many things would be going wrong at once. also they said when they took it for a drive it was not going past 40MPH and was struggling,, this wasnt happening to me when i was driving it and I also dont understand why they cant see what is wrong with it.. should i get someone else to look at my car or leave it with them ???
If you could go past 40mph before you took it to the dealer, then obviously THEY did something to make things go wrong. You didn't have a check engine light on before did you? I would insist that it's their fault and see if they'll fix it themselves.
On the turbo Diesel engines I've worked on, vaccum didn't have anything to do with the turbo, so I think that's strange. Honestly I'd get a second opinion somewhere else before deciding to go with a turbo replacement.
