Default Pilot rattle noise

Hi I have a 2007 pilot and it has this rattling noise coming from what I believe is the belt tensioner. I replace the tensioner/pulley, the ac compressor and the belt but the rattling is still happening. What can be causing this noise. I already spent over $300 on parts that I probably didn't need to replace. can someone please help me out.

Thanks for any advice,
Lou

Take off the belt and hand spin all of the pulleys. You will feel roughness in the pulley that has the bad bearing along it. It's likely going to be an alternator bearing, usually the rear bearing but it would be best to replace both the front and rear.

Or try mechanics stethoscope. It is under ten dollars at Harbor Freight. It is not perfect but it may help you pinpoint the source of the noise.

Good luck,
Sam

If you are sure it's not any of the pulleys, then it could be timing area related

possibly part 10 or 6

I took it to a local shop and they tried to pin point the problem and couldn't. They adjusted the pulley screws to the proper torque and nothing. So they asked around and were told to install the Honda pulley and not aftermarket. I will do that myself in the next couple of days and will post what happens.
