I was attempting to pair my husbands new phone and saw a strangers name pop up as one of the phones to pair other than my own. Is it possible for my car to connect someone if they don't have access to my car?

 

When you were attempting to pair your phone, the devices showing up are only the ones in range and available. It does not mean they are already paired to your car.

 

Anything is possible to hack depending on time and skill; however, Bluetooth range of the car's system is not very large.

 

The name still shows up even when I have driven somewhere far.

 

You may have inadvertently paired their device or someone else did it when the car was at the dealership , etc.

You can delete that paired device.

 

when attempting to pair a phone the screen gives me options, my phone, the strangers phone or "add new phone". The names saved are phones that have already been paired previously. In this case, I was trying to add my husbands phine, and that's when we saw the strangers name along with mine. Even as we drove mikes away, the name still appears.

 

That's the only logical conclusion I can think of, but my husband thinks I had another man in my car lol.
