Default Please help me choose a muffler

I am looking for a 2.5 inch center in center out weld on high flow muffler for my 2005 Civic VTEC. I want a muffler that has a nice tone when accelerating and is loud at full throttle, but does not drone on the highway. I also can not spend a ton on it, probably around $60-$70 max. Thanks!

For that budget head for "The Bay" (eBay) and try your luck. Best you can do, really.

A 4"x14" 2.50 in/out Magnaflow unpolished will be around $70 shipped. That's about as good as you could hope for with that tight of a budget.

Thanks, looks good to me! I can get that for $64 on Amazon with free 2 day shipping since I am a Prime member. But will it drone? I do not want something that drones.

I have no idea if it'll drone in your setup. Do you have a resonator?

You're worried about droning and you're only willing to pay 60-70?

Why not just leave the stock muffler you're about to cut off?

At minimum have somebody fabricate at least an axle-back exhaust, that way when you get tired of the noise and realize that you're wasting your life with this hacked off and welded on can you can put your stock muffler back on and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Yes, I have a resonator. I actually have 2 resonators because my cat delete pipe has 1 also.

I do not have a stock muffler, it rusted out. I have the muffler that came with my Spec D catback exhaust, and it is way too loud and drones badly. Also, I would love to be able to pay hundreds of dollars for the finest muffler money can buy, but I do not have that kind of money and I got stopped for my exhaust being too loud. I did not get a ticket, but the cop said if he has to stop me again it will be a $200 ticket.

Looks like you're stuck waiting to save and get ready with those tickets.

DNA racing cat back exhaust 2" 1/4 pipe with 4" rolled tip (painted black matte for stealth) with the stock resonator is what I have. About $150 (Cheap) No droning, just a nice throaty sound (No tickets). Again I stress DO NOT DELETE the stock resonator and you will be fine.
