The only way to close my gas cap door is to have someone pull the lever while I shut the door and then release the lever. The pin that releases the door apparently is not retracting by it self when the door is shut. I have tried silicone spray on the pin and put grease on the door piece that touches the pin. I can manually push in the pin, but it releases before I can shut the door. Any ideas besides taking it to a dealer?

 

What year and model car is this? Anyways, the fuel door lid latch probably got pushed out of alignment during refueling. Gently adjust the latch with your hand to straighten it and see if that fixes it.
