Default 2005 honda crv vibration

Our 2005 Honda CRV has a vibration while driving. While driving at a constant speed like 20, 40 or 50 there is a vibration. If you accelerate or decelerate the vibration stops. looking for clues or answers. 160,000 miles and had a tranny flush and differential fluid change at 100,000.

Have the axles been changed....if so a lot of people say aftermarket replacement axles cause vibration issues .

Describe the vibrations - wheels, tires, CV axles, motor mounts, suspension components, wheel bearings all cause "vibration".

Hi,

i have crv 2005 , 200k on the clock and the same problem at the front of the car , more obvious when uphill always between 1500-2000 rpm @ 40km/h .One CV shaft replaced(non genuine) and wheels balanced with new tires and still no success. Checked by 2 mechanics without success.
Does anybody has an idea what might be? Thank you very much!

Bojan,

First of all, rotate wheels front to back one at a time and see if the vibration follows. If it does, it is the tire or rim. Tires are not always off balance - they might be defective altogether even if perfectly balanced. Happened to me.
But I doubt that it is wheel related as speed is too low. Are you reading any codes, especially misfires?
Does it knock? Does using higher octane fuel help? Did you inspect plugs?
Did you check engine mounts? If they are shot, the engine would vibrate.

Hi canister , thanks for suggestions !I have rotated wheels and no difference your doubts confirmed. I dont hear any knockings and i am using 91 octane as per specs , engine runs very smooth in general , no power loss etc.
unfortunately i can not check error codes but engine mounts seems to me very possible ...will see what i can do.

Thanks again !

A cheap ELM scanner with a PC or Android software can read codes. I have one and it is worth every penny. It does not read ATT, ABS, TPMS, and SRS though. For them I have to use the 4-9 pin jumper on the OBDII port.
Supposedly the cheap HDS cables work too, but I had not been able to get mine to work yet. There are videos on youtube how HDS cables work, but again, I am still trying.
Buy at least some scanner as they are cheaper than going to a garage.
