its the bushing that got mangled from not being 100 percent lined up correctly. Happened to us couple years ago on 5he 07 si. We finally, figured it out after weeks of trying to get the tranny to line up. Finally said **** it, and dropped the tranny again. Then thats what we seen. Im attempting to add a photo.
Thanks for the image/explanation. Is there a technical name for it or just a special part that comes with twin disks? i'm sure CC would sell the next owner one, they say these twin disks are rebuildable. the rest of the clutch looks brand new. did use a pedal stop and never started it with the safety switch.
thanks

Pretty sure its just called a pilot bushing. Mite be able to pick one up from honda. I cant remember if he got a replacement from honda, local autoparts store, or from a clutch replacement because we had to change that also.
No use CC twin pilot bearing only. Honda doesn't sale it nor would it be the same. Should always replace it when going into new car. Simple press out and in. I believe when I got mine was around the $25 area from CC.
The main problem is the pilot plastic tool can sometimes be off it is best to use an actual transmission shaft to align.
